PromptUp collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server, and operates entirely on your device. Your prompts stay in your browser's local storage and never leave your machine. We have no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party integrations.
PromptUp is a Chrome Extension that lets you organize, store, and instantly copy AI prompts. It provides a hierarchical folder structure, prompt previews, and one-click clipboard access — all within your browser.
PromptUp is developed independently and is not affiliated with Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, or any AI provider. This Privacy Policy explains how the extension handles your data.
We collect no personal data. PromptUp does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any information about you or your usage.
The only data that exists in PromptUp is the prompt titles and content that you create and store. This data lives exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, IP addresses, browsing history, usage analytics, crash reports, or any other identifying or behavioral data.
PromptUp requests the minimum permissions necessary to function. Here is exactly what each permission is used for:
No other permissions are requested or used. The extension does not access tabs, browsing history, cookies, or any web page content.
All prompt data is stored locally using the Chrome Extension storage API (chrome.storage.local). This means:
Your prompts are stored only on the device where the extension is installed. No data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party. The data is subject to Chrome's standard storage protections on your local machine.
If you uninstall PromptUp, all locally stored data is automatically deleted by the browser.
No network requests. PromptUp makes zero outbound network requests during normal operation. It functions entirely offline after installation.
PromptUp does not share any data with third parties. There are no advertising networks, analytics services, or data brokers involved with this extension.
The extension does not include any third-party scripts, tracking pixels, or remote resources that could transmit your data externally. The only external resource loaded is the Google Fonts stylesheet for typography (DM Sans and DM Mono), which is a standard browser-level font request and does not transmit any personal or prompt data.
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control at all times:
You can delete individual prompts or folders directly within the extension interface. You can clear all extension data through Chrome's settings under Extensions → PromptUp → Clear data. Uninstalling the extension removes all associated local data automatically.
Since we hold no data on any server, there is no account to delete and no data deletion request process required.
If this Privacy Policy is ever updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
We do not anticipate material changes to this policy, as the extension's data model is intentionally minimal by design.
